Deciding what type of boat to buy can be tough. If you are a fisherman, then you probably just want a small fishing boat that holds a couple passengers, doesn’t make much noise, and can fit into small areas where fish gather. If you are more interested in a luxury boat, then you might prefer sailboats, classic cruisers, or antiques. A commercial fisherman might want a larger boat with plenty of deck space and storage. Still other people want the power and speed of motor boats and sport boats with super fast motors. When you contact a yacht broker, ask them if they have consultants that can help you decide if you need classics, antiques, sailboats, cruisers, or motor boats. Ask them how long they have been in business. Those with plenty of experience should have access to convertible sedans as well as charters. They often have the best prices too. Tell the consultants how you want to use your boat. A luxury cruiser might be perfect for someone who wants to relax in comfort, but a powerful motor boat is better for someone who wants speed and excitement. Tell them where you will be keeping your boat as well. This can sometimes affect the type of boat that you should buy. Ask them what types of customer services they provide. Will they offer express transport to your dock? Do they offer free price quotes? Pay close attention to the level of courtesy they use when answering your questions. This can often help you determine how much they value their customers.
